Wedding Photography by Robert London Photography

I am a full service artist photographer based out of NYC, I am a world renowned wedding photographer being one of the very few certified by the Mexican Tourism Board. My images have been published numerous times across the world, and I have shot celebrity weddings but love to work with everyone. I also have a full portfolio of commercial and portrait work under my Bob London brand, this work for advertising and editorial clients has been seen on magazine covers and many ads in magazines and for major corporations and record companies.

Robert London's style is unique for it is derived not by him but by the wedding couple's own story which is unfolding on their wedding day.

Creating his own style, what Robert coined "artistic reportage" a blending of art and photojournalism, capturing the intimate moments yet the couple is seldom aware of his presence.

Robert captures your wedding as a story – the way it was! Rarely requesting poses, and lighting only to enhance, never to overwhelm. Looking for a photographer who has photographed numerous magazine covers, Robert is your wedding photographer.

Wedding couples often say "viewing my images feels like being at the wedding again" – a cherished compliment.

Although based in New York City Robert is a destination wedding specialist as certified by the Mexico Tourism Board.

Robert London Photography is a certified Mexico Destination Wedding Specialist by the Mexico Tourism board; very few photographers have achieved this recognition. He is the featured wedding photographer in the extremely popular “curated guide to everyone” email newsletter Daily Candy and has been on New York Magazine’s authoritative wedding vendor publication, Weddings New York City recommended list continuously since 2005. Robert’s wedding photographs have been published in the wedding industry’s most definitive wedding resource theknot and numerous wedding blog photography showcases including wedding images, wedding photography instruction, wedding vendor interviews, and brides and grooms tutorials. Robert London's images have appeared in wedding publications WellWed, Modern Bride, NY Magazine and numerous blogs and websites.

To be recognized by one’s peers is the ultimate achievement, and Robert London Photography has again achieved this stature in a very short time. He was appointed to the board of Association for Wedding Professionals International AFWPI and as an advisory member of the board to Brides View, a new different take on vendor directories. He is a photography advisor to the new and hot destination wedding resource Destination Wedding Advisor from the people who created the iconic Honey Moons dot com. A quote from an industry leader expresses the strong recognition from the photographic community, “Robert London is a wonderful professional photographer and more important person to work with… I would recommend Robert and have recommended him many times with incredible results.” – Sue Cunningham, director of Wedding Professionals Network International (WPNI)

"My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed working with Robert London. The quality of his photography is outstanding, he is easy to work with, flexible and gets amazingly natural photos without any stiff or forced posing. Photos look as if they are right out of a magazine. He was able to get outstanding city shots. Unlike other studios who have a cookie cutter mentality with a large staff, you will deal with Robert personally from start to finish. Robert is top class, modern, contemporary, nothing cheesy here.

Robert was personable, reliable and flexible with meeting times, created a package that met our budget and on top of it all he created an archival CD of ALL the photos taken on our wedding day (more than 500). The archival CD is invaluable as we now have the option of being able to print any photo at any size any time we want. Choose Robert and you are guaranteed to have personal, high quality professional photos you will enjoy for a lifetime. It's everything I imagined. So much fun to relive the day through photos. I can't stop looking at our album. We get comment after comment about how the photos seem to jump off the page. I couldn't be more thrilled."

"Bob is a magician with a camera. He shot our non-traditional rooftop reception from the afternoon through the evening and every single shot is beautiful! Our guests are happy and relaxed and more importantly we were both happy and relaxed! Bob works the crowd subtly, so no one feels uncomfortable or awkward having their photo taken. His simple and very flattering lighting made everybody look great! (Making us wish we had done some more traditional shots as well!) Because of Bob London we have the MOST BEAUTIFUL memories of our very special day with our best friends and close families. Bob's work is really wonderful and his ability to 'capture a moment' (many moments!) even in a candid setting such as ours, was uncanny. I highly recommend Bob London, his range of packages give an option for every budget and he is truly a dream to work with - pleasant, talented and an all around outstanding professional"

“We had a wonderful wedding at the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens. Bob was our photographer, and we couldn't be happier with the results. We chose Bob after meeting several photographers for three main reasons: his photos were beautiful, his pricing options were extremely flexible, and he seemed like a fun, easy-going person to work with. The hundreds of proofs that he gave us were so beautiful and usable that it cut down our costs because we didn't have to order a whole ton of extra prints to give to other people. He also gave us the digital files on CDs, and we eventually got the negatives as well. He was willing to do a mix of candid and posed, as we wanted, and he managed to get great shots without getting in the way. Our album came out gorgeous. So that pretty much sums it up. We couldn't have asked for anything more -- thanks, Bob!! One more addition to my review above -- after viewing the video here, "Toni On Tying the Knot," I have to agree about the unexpected shots - we got some great ‘getting ready’ shots and beautiful pictures of the bouquets!”

While in photography school Robert never envisioned being a wedding photographer in New York City, wedding photography was stale and formal most wedding albums, even in NYC looked the same, just different Brides and Grooms. His business first flourished as a commercial photographer but as cameras and film progressed, the time became right to re envision wedding photography. Robert began to create his unique vision and style he coined “artistic reportage” a blending of art and photojournalism. He is unobtrusive. ..he captures intimate moments...the passion of the day, and yet the Bride and Groom are seldom aware of his presence.

“I would say that one of my strongest influences has been the photography and writing of Henri Cartier-Bresson. Like him, I do not wish to be constrained by preconception, but approach each wedding with an intuitive sense of form and visual story. Some images may seem accidental, yet within my camera they were well thought out. I strive to extract a moment of meaning out of each click of the not only document a wedding, but to evoke the dreams and intensity of life which is being manifest in this one decisive moment.”

After graduating with honours in Photography from RIT in 1987, Robert moved directly to NYC where he assisted numerous top photographers including celebrity and Vanity Fair cover shooter Firooz Zahedi. In 1991, Robert opened his own studio gathering an increasing list of high profile clients, including Cosmopolitan, Tommy Hilfiger, and RCA Records.

In 1999 Robert expanded into weddings taking advantage of new film and camera technologies he started to develop his own techniques, enabling him to capture the wedding as a visual storyteller. “We pose for portraits, but asking a Bride and Groom to continually pose throughout their wedding day made no visual sense to me.” Recognition by the wedding industry was swift, including a feature in the popular web site Daily Candy, publication in Modern Bride multiple times, features in theknot website and a television presentation on “Toni On!” with TV anchor Toni Senecal. Robert has been listed in New York Magazine’s “Best of Issue” continuously since 2004. Robert remains stylistically broad, not being limited to one style or technique, photographing a wedding in Mexico one day and then returning for a product shoot for Ralf Lauren the next.

The studio has a variety of packages to meet most individuals needs, which are encouraged to be modified to ensure that your individual desires are captured. You work with Robert to choose the look of the day, be it black and white, colour, formal, documentary or perhaps something with a fashion attitude. Whatever your stylistic wishes are Robert can realize them - while still keeping your Mom happy!

Robert London has the vision, experience, and creative inspiration to form a unique photographic representation of your wedding day.
