Brenda Lau is a Panamanian singer and composer who is currently majoring in songwriting in her sixth semester at Berklee College of Music. In 2010, she won the Panamanian's version of American Idol called "Vive la Musica". She can sing and write songs in Spanish, Chinese and English. Her renowned song is a World Music genre song called "Chimbombó". Watch the music video below.
Born on December 21, 1983, in Panama City, República de Panama, Brenda Lau won the last season of Vive La Música “Batalla de las Estrellas” in 2010, winning the $15,000.00 prize plus a Honda City car. Her first composition and single, "Chimbombó” jumped from No. 10 to No. 1 on the Panamanian Billboard charts, and her release of Eterna Primavera became the march song for an autistic foundation “Fundación Soy Capaz” every April 2, since year 2015. Lau also have co-written with her friend Joaquin Rodriguez Madriz their hit duet song “Dime hasta cuando” which became No. 1 hit on 4 consecutive weeks at the local radios.
Her devotion to Music comes from an indispensable need to communicate what she hears and feels in her mind and heart. Music creates an imaginary bridge allowing the World to see inside, through she needs enough interpretative and creative skill to build it into existence. Finally, she thanks God and people who have supported her down the road for giving her the opportunity to study and engage into the community of Berklee College of Music; She has been feeling grateful for having the clarity to find the path she wants to travel.
